25 Symposium of Palaeontological Preparation and Conservation with the Geological Curators' Group
22nd - 26th August
By clicking the ‘Booking Form’ tab on the SVPCA website, you will be re-directed to the University of Liverpool online booking and payments system. Follow instructions and make your choices regarding extras such as the Ice Breaker event, Annual Dinner, and printed abstract book. Please note that to get a printed abstract book you should check the box during registration, but also please only do so if you would use a printed version over a PDF.
Thanks to generous sponsorship (see below), we were able to keep prices low, and as follows:
|Full Rate||Student Rate|
|Field Trip (Chester Zoo)||£25|
When you have booked, please take note of your booking reference (this will also be emailed to you), as this will be required during abstract submission.
Registration will close at midnight on the 15th July.
Abstract submission is also now open, and can be accomplished through the abstract submission section of the SVPCA website.
Abstracts are limited to 250 words, and must not include citations. Abstracts will be judged double-blind by an abstract review committee, and will be assessed based on scientific quality. Preferences for oral vs poster presentation will be taken into account subject to availability of slots. Note that poster presenters will be invited to give a short talk in the lightning session.
Abstracts must be received before midnight on the 15th July, and delegates must have registered in order to submit an abstract.
Delegates are welcome to find their own accommodation, but we are also offering places through the University of Liverpool in Dover Court, a five minute walk from the conference venue. You can book accommodation through the ‘Accommodation’ tab on the SVPCA website, or through this link.
The Jones-Fenleigh fund awards grants covering registration fees, accommodation costs, and basic subsistence in order to help delegates with no institutional financial support attend the conference. For more info see the SVPCA website or the 2nd Circular.
Applications to the fund should be sent to Peter Falkingham ([email protected]) before June 30th.
Acknowledgements and sponsors
We wish to thank our generous sponsors, the Palaeontological Association and the Company of Biologists. We also wish to thank Frontiers in Earth Sciences, who have donated prizes for best student talks and posters. Finally, I would like to extend a personal thanks to Richard Forrest for handling the SVPCA website, and bearing with me through a number of [not so] minor complications
We look forward to welcoming you to Liverpool in August.
