March 9th, 2001

Dear colleagues,

SVPCA and SPPC 2001

Many of you will have been looking forward to receiving this year's first circular and, perhaps, wondering what was happening as February became March and diaries began to fill up.
We know you will want to join us, therefore, in sending good wishes to Michel Martin in Boulogne-sur-Mer. He has been quite seriously unwell for some months and, although at present is feeling somewhat better, he is, sadly, not able to continue with organising the 2001 meeting.
Luckily we received several immediate offers from possible substitute venues: it's wonderful that so many people are determined to keep the series going. So information for the 2001 symposia (SVPCA and SPPC) is going out now from Phil Manning and his team at the Yorkshire Museum in York, UK. The dates for your diaries are:
September 3rd - 7th approximately (field trip to be organised)

Thanks for your patience.
